One of the first countries in the world to produce u-glass was Austria, where Moosbrunner Glasfubrik began producing u-glass with a width of 262mm in 1957. Glaverbel of Belgium, saint-gobuin and Boussois of France, pilkington company of Britain, BauglassindustrieAG of the former federal Germany, LOF company and AFG company of the United States, PPG industry company of Canada and Japan sheet glass also successively built u-shaped glass production lines.
In 1965, the first u-shaped glass production line of the Russian federation was put into production in polsk glass factory, with an annual output of 30,000 m2. Subsequently, in the ball glass factory, red may glass factory, chernyagin glass factory, gushev glass factory, mosley asbestos insulation materials and other 11 enterprises have built more than 10 U glass production lines, to 1975, the former Soviet union U glass output has reached 4 million m2.
U-glass production in the former GDR, Romania, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Portugal and other countries also began in the late 1960s.
The u-shaped glass of Algerian oran glass company was put into production at the end of 1992, which was the first u-shaped glass production in Africa.
In China, the introduction of u-shaped glass data appeared in the late 1970s. Because glass manufacturers and related construction departments are very unfamiliar with this kind of glass, this new type of architectural glass has not been developed, let alone promoted and applied. With the continuous development of China's national economy and the continuous improvement of people's living standards, with the joint efforts of China's architectural and decorative design departments, production departments and circulation fields, this new type of architectural glass is sure to be popularized and applied in China and achieve rapid development.
